The Godfather is a larger-than-life film, but getting it made is its own epic tale. And, finally, it’s about to be told in Paramount+’s The Offer. Miles Teller stars as Albert S. Ruddy, the producer who makes his way to Paramount Pictures only to be handed the difficult task of bringing Mario Puzo‘s novel to the screen. Meanwhile, studio head Robert Evans (Matthew Goode) tries to position the project as his golden goose. The series also features Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, Burn Gorman as Charles Bluhdorn, Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, and Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzo. And as seen in the following teaser, the ensemble creates a heightened look at early 1970s and the making of a classic.
While not exactly “genre,” The Godfather has its roots in a class of picture out of vogue at the time. At the same time, the trailer suggests this will be a story worth viewing no matter your genre tendencies.
The Offers debuts on Paramount+ with its first three episodes on April 28th.
