Justin Benson And Aaron Moorhead To Direct ‘Loki’ Season 2
by Erik Amaya
Kate Herron‘s replacements on Loki have been chosen.
Deadline reports Archive 81 and Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will take the helm on the Disney+ series’ second season. The pair will co-direct “the majority” of the episodes, with another director (or team) to be revealed later. Eric Martin is writing the six episode order with Season 1 writer Michael Waldron joining star Tom Hiddleston as an executive producer.
Plot details are, of course, unknown, but it is easy to imagine it will directly follow up on the Season 1 cliffhanger. That said, it is also possible Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will advance the story of the Time Variance Authority and Loki’s dealing with the variants of He Who Remains. Indeed, early descriptions of the Doctor Strange sequel indicated it would pick up on plot threads from both WandaVision and Loki. The connections to the earlier series are clear in the recent trailer, but the latter is seemingly teased via the ultra-modern sets glimpsed once Strange is arrested for Multiversal meddling. Of course, that could just be wishful thinking on our parts.
It is unclear how quickly the show will go into production or make its way to Disney+, but the news of a director (or directors) usually leads to a quick preproduction process for the Marvel Studios television shows.
