Kite Man To Open ‘Noonan’s’ On HBO Max

by Erik Amaya

Kite Man (Matt Oberg) is getting into a whole new line of work as HBO Max orders Noonan’s to series.

Deadline reports the 10-episode series will feature Oberg as the annoyingly lovable d-list villain as he and Golden Glider — now an item — buy the seedy bar seen in Harley Quinn and return to a life of thievery to keep the place afloat. The program will be produced by the Harley Quinn team of Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Sam Register, Dean Lorey, and Kaley Cuoco with Lorey serving as showrunner on Noonan’s. Although, as the site points out, the title is considered a working one and may change by the time it makes it to the service.

“We love the wild and fun world of Harley Quinn so much we just had to make a spin-off and who better to center it around than the outcast Kite Man,” Suzanna Makkos, Executive Vice President, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, HBO Max and Adult Swim said in a statement. “Justin, Patrick, and Dean have created the perfect local hangout for Gotham City’s not-so-finest at Noonan’s, where bar patrons can blow off steam after a long day of mayhem.”

As with all newly announced projects, it is unclear how quickly it will appear on HBO Max, but we look forward to seeing it.
