Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month, Red 5 Comics acquired the first issue of the Asian American science fiction adventure comic book Mystery Brothers by creator Quentin Lee. Mystery Brothers is set to be released on July 20 at San Diego Comic-con, as Spores Network exclusively releases the first NFTs of Mystery Brothers on May 18. Red 5 and Spores Network dropped a first look of Mystery Brothers artwork this month.
Set in New York, Mystery Brothers is an exciting science fiction universe about two Chinese American 13-year-old half-brothers, Jin and Adam – one of whom may or may not be completely of this world – battling to save their parents and protect humanity from a dystopian robot apocalypse.
In the first issue, when teenage Jin Huang goes to spend the summer with his estranged scientist father, Huang Ming Guang, he gets an unexpected surprise. Jin meets Adam, another teen who is introduced as his stepbrother. As Jin explores the research facility on the private island, he soon realizes his strange new ‘brother’ has a mysterious secret.
The comic book is the first collaboration between creator Quentin Lee and Argentinian based artist Elis Zill.
