by Olly MacNamee

Along with all first wave of Image Comics titles out three decades ago, Jim Valentino’s ShadowHawk #1 is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. And writer/artist Philip Tan (Spawn, X-Men), co-writer Brian Haberlin (Hellcop, The Marked), and inker Daniel Henriques (Gunslinger Spawn, Shadow War: Alpha) will be teaming up for the upcoming The Last ShadowHawk to mark this milestone anniversary.

Valentino, Vice President at Image Comics and creator of ShadowHawk, said of this special one-shot:

“I wanted to do something special for ShadowHawk’s 30th anniversary and what better than to have long-time ShadowHawk fan, great artist and all around swell guy Philip Tan create a whole new book?Aided by Brian Haberlin on script, Daniel Henriques (inks) and Federico Blee (colors) with covers by the likes of Philip, Rob Liefeld, Bill Sienkeiwicz and more I think we’ve come up with something really special that long-time as well as new fans will enjoy.”

Tan added:

“There is not enough space in two sentences to express how much Jim Valentino’s works and creations meant to me, and when the opportunity to be part of this special project came up, I just had to grab it! Everyone that loves ShadowHawk will not want to miss this!”

The Last Shadowhawk #1 will be available on Wednesday, August 17th from Image Comics:
