Dynamite Sets October Release For Stan Lee’s ‘Alliances: Orphans’
by Erik Amaya
The Alliances Universe returns this October
Dynamite recently announced plans to publish Alliances: Orphans, a hardcover volume by Stan Lee, Luke Lieberman (Red Sonja) and Ryan Silbert (The Coldest Case) with art from Szymon Kudranski and a cover by Bill Sienkiewicz, who also handles the Lee’s prologue. Returning to the Alliances reality, Orphans centers on William Ackerson, a man lost in space in search of the source of his uncanny abilities. But when a gravity wave destabilizes both space and time, he meets the Orphans. Each is the last of their kind, their various species having been wiped out by an alien menace known only as “Hive.” The group consists of Little Boy, their giant childlike leader; Haze, a caustic creature of pure vapor; Rascal, a self-loathing zealot with dark secrets; and Critter, a being that’s equal parts monster and puppy.
But just as Ackerson links up with them, they find their latest heist going south and a stowaway — a member of an alien civilization who once ruled the galaxy — aboard their ship. Will they become a family in the face of cosmic odds? And will Ackerson ever learn the truth about his powers?
The 184-page hardcover is due for release in October.
