Build A Rocket Boy Studios Premieres A First Look At ‘Everywhere’

by Sage Ashford

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Build a Rocket Boy premiered a first look at their first game, Everywhere.  One of the lead designers for Everywhere is Leslie Benzies, best known for his work as lead developer for the Grand Theft Auto game up to Grand Theft Auto V.  The studio has been working on Everywhere since the start of 2017, but this is the first time anyone’s gotten a chance to see it outside of sketchy leaks on Reddit.

As for what Everywhere is about…no one’s really certain yet. The developers got on stage in a brief interview with Geoff Keighley that described Everywhere as a place where gamers could not only play, but watch, share, and create as well. It does appear to have two separate worlds–one stylized as animation, one entirely realistic. Perhaps Everywhere takes a page from Assassin’s Creed, where there’s an in-game “virtual” world where players can get up to random adventures, while the main story is told in the “real” world in the game?

The developers are still being cagey about this project, but they do plan on releasing the game sometime in 2023. While that release date seems optimistic if they’re talking about a full release, perhaps an early access release is in the plans?
