‘Ironheart’ Adds Regan Aliyah To Cast
by Erik Amaya
Regan Aliyah is the latest to join Disney+’s Ironheart.
According to Deadline, her role has not been disclosed — which is par for the course with Marvel Studios series in general and this series in particular. Based on concepts outlined by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato back in the comics, the program centers on Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a tech genius and creator of an armored suit to rival the likes of Iron Man. The character will make her debut in November’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which suggests the series will debut sometime next year. The cast includes Lyric Ross as Williams’s best friend and Anthony Ramos in a role said to be as pivotal as Jonathan Majors‘ debut on Loki. Other members of the cast include Manny Montana and Alden Ehrenreich. Chinaka Hodge serves as head writer with Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes directing.
The series will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5. Of course, the phase system is more of a loose grouping of projects than a true thematic element, so the program will presumably deepen Williams’ place in the modern day MCU and, perhaps, direct her toward a spot on the Avengers or maybe even the Thunderbolts.
Ironheart is currently in production, but not yet on the Disney+ schedule.
