Ubisoft Reveals The Next Title In The Division Universe: ‘The Division Heartland’
by Sage Ashford
During Ubisoft’s Ubisoft Forward showcase, the company revealed the latest game in their popular The Division franchise. The Division Heartland is a free-to-play title taking place in the small town of Silver Creek in the heart of Middle America. Though it’s free-to-play, Ubisoft promises an ever-changing story that will introduce important new characters to The Division narrative.
In the game, the player has been tasked to protect Silver Creek from a group of rogue agents known as the Vultures. So far, Ubisoft has discussed two modes in the game: Storm Operations and Excursion Operations. Storm Operations are Player-Versus-Environment-Versus-Player battles involving 45-players fighting against the Vultures. Excursion Operations are more traditional PvE experiences, where players run through missions, collect gear, and prepare for battle.
The Division Heartland is set to release for PlayStation and Xbox consoles and on PC, but there’s no release date yet. However, players are free to register for the game’s closed beta right now.
