Will a member of the Richards clan make a surprise appearance?
Variety reports The Good Place‘s William Jackson Harper will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in a role which “remains a closely guarded secret.” As Harper has been one of the Internet’s favorite fan-casting choices for Fantastic Four‘s Reed Richards, speculation immediately shifted to the possibility that the character will debut here ahead of the FF film. And considering Reed’s historic connection to Kang (Jonathan Majors), the possibility has a certain amount of merit.
The film itself sees Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), and the Pym/Van Dyne family entering the Quantum Realm after sending out a beacon. Once there, Scott is seemingly press-ganged by Kang into another heist. In a version of the film’s trailer screened at the D23 Expo, Kang referenced losing something he desperately wants back — but what could the Multiversal aspect of He Who Remains (also Majors) lose that only Scott could recover?
Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Evangeline Lilly return with Bill Murray making an appearance and, seemingly, M.O.D.O.K. making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania opens February 17th, 2023.
