‘Atomic Heart’ Shows Off A Gameplay Overview Ahead Of Release

by Sage Ashford

Developer Mundfish have released a nearly nine minute gameplay trailer for their upcoming title Atomic Heart, a first-person action RPG set in an alternate history Russia. In Atomic Heart, the development of robots allowed Soviet Russia to stop the Axis powers and usher themselves into a new era of technological advancement. Years later though, the country is on the verge of a robotic uprising, and the player has been assigned a mission to shut down the uprising before it gets any further out of hand.

The new trailer is the most complete look at Atomic Heart we’ve had yet, with glimpses of the game’s many environments, challenging puzzles, and some of the game’s story and characters.

Of course, a significant amount of the trailer is devoted to combat, which involves discussing the protagonist’s partner AI Charliss. Charliss lets the player hack enemies, scan the environment, and have access to a variety of special elemental powers. It also does the required backtalk necessary for any sidekick these days.

Atomic Heart releases February 21st for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, along with PC via Steam.
