More Comics Conventions: MACC-POW! Coming In July 2023

What’s that? Another great convention focused on comics? Oh yes, it’s Macclesfield’s MACC-POW!

Well, as we move into the Spring it appears that comic convention season is definitely here. It used to be that the UK had to wait all year for the single comics event that they had. But no longer, it’s a case of comics, comic, comics all year round.

A reminder though, Comic Cons should be, in my opinion, all about COMICS. Yes, there’s a place for all kinds of pop culture events and it’s lovely that you have somewhere to meet the third elf from the left from a scene in LOTR – but as far as I’m concerned, if it has COMICS in the title, then that’s what it should be primarily focused on.

Case in point, here’s the latest Macclesfield Comic Arts Festival. Happening in various venues across Macclesfield, UK, for several years now, organiser Marc Jackson, a comics maker himself and a damn fine one, has been putting on a fine show featuring a host of great comics talent.
