Adult Animation Revolution: Rodrigo Sousa’s ‘Playground’

Playground is a trailer for a proposed horror mini-series project created by Rodrigo Sousa. I was blown away by Sousa’s work on Tales of the Salt Water (see below) and would love to see Playground expanded into a full animated series.

While supernatural thrillers are very popular in anime, horror remains an underutilized genre in Western animation. The mainstream popularity of anime has grown steadily in the West, now is the perfect time for a horror-themed adult animated mini-series. Hopefully a streaming service will help Rodrigo Sousa realize his vision in the near future.
