Christopher Yost Returns To Comics With ‘Unnatural Order’ This July
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
I’m a fan of dark fantasy, druids, and historical fiction. So when it came across my desk that none other than Christopher Yost was going to be writing a new series for Vault Comics I audibly said…
“This is rad!”

Vault Comics has revealed details of their upcoming creator-owned series Unnatural Order, co-created by Christopher Yost and Val Rodrigues.
Yost says the concept for Unnatural Order has been brewing in his mind for some time and is a “mix of fantasy, sci-fi, and dark humor” that could only be brought to life with Val Rodrigues and published by the team at Vault Comics.
Rodrigues, who launched his career at Vault with Deep Roots, says “Unnatural Order is a blend of Sci-Fi and fantasy that expands the limits of realities with a creative team that is a joy to be a part of.”
Unnatural Order takes place after the fall of the Britons and the Roman invasion of Hibernia, where the captive known only as the Druid is released, unleashing darkness across the world. Innocents burn as their loved ones lament, and it seems hope is in short supply. However, those who resist the druid learn of the existence of a man whom even the Druid fears. A prisoner, from another time, who knows all the Druid’s secrets, the most damning of which being that this hellscape is not how the world is supposed to be.
Vault editor-in-chief Adrian Wassel is delighted to be working with Yost, whom he credits with being a defining voice in comics since the 2000s, and calls his return to comics and first big creator-owned series “everything he does best and more.”
