Marvel’s ‘Miracleman: The Silver Age’ Returns This June

For most of my young teenage years, I would hear people talk about Miracleman in the same way that people talked about criminal organizations and demons who would show up at your door when you spoke their name. It was all hushed tones and winks.
I read the books when I was in my early 20s and was blown away by how unapologetically honest they felt. It was like witnessing what would happen if someone actually gained superpowers in the current world we live in. Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything out there like Miracleman. It’s great, not always enjoyable, but always exceptionally well done.
So when Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham triumphantly returned to complete a comic book masterpiece that had been decades in the making, I felt a little of that wonder returning to the world.
Miracleman: The Silver Age tells the story of Young Miracleman, the lost member of the Miracleman Family, whose last memories were of a 1963 world of joy and innocence. Now, he’s been thrust into the 21st century where his best friends have become gods and monsters. The setup is just so emotionally charged that anyone who likes heavy tones in their comics is sure to get something meaningful from this book.
One Miracleman wanted to destroy the world and almost succeeded, another rebuilt the world in his own image, and now Young Miracleman is left questioning what he will do in this world that feels so alien and brutal in comparison to what he knows.
Fans of this epic story will want to make sure they don’t miss a single issue of Young Miracleman’s quest. The next installment in this gripping series, Miracleman: The Silver Age #6, is set to release in June.
