`MOM Breaks The Internet’ Coming Later This Year From Scout Comics

Hell hath no fury like a MOM scorned.

When computer programmer Barbie Reed loses her job on the same day that her 15-year-old daughter is arrested – and inappropriately touched by a cop – someone is going to pay. That’s the premise of the new Scout Comics series MOM Breaks the Internet, due out later this year.

In the series, Barbie assembles her fellow moms to reprogram Internet games to be educational, to disable trolls and to block bullies from spreading hate. Acting under the online persona of MOM, she and the others break the internet. And if President Waldgrave and his cronies want it back in time for the election, they’ll have to complete her list of honey-dos to create a better world.

While MOM wants to keep people safe, she must avoid anti-hacker Agent Ramirez, who is tasked with bringing the tech-terrorist to justice.

“This book means a lot as my first creator-owned series and I’m proud to have a name like Scout behind it,” said writer Jay Sandlin. “Taking the internet hostage is something many parents have fantasized about, and now we get a taste of what that might look like.”

Rounding out the creative team are artist Patrick Mulholland, colorist Adriano Augusto and letterer Cynna Ael.
