SDCC 2023: Dynamite Plans A 50th Anniversary Celebration For Red Sonja In San Diego

While Dynamite has been celebrating the 50th anniversary of Red Sonja all year long, it is only natural that they would use Comic-Con International: San Diego to mark the occasion in a special way.
On Friday, July 21 at 11:30am PT in room 5AB, the company will host a panel celebrating the She-Devil with a Sword’s longevity. Red Sonja, LLC president, executive editor, and a producer of the coming film Luke Lieberman will serve as moderator while talent like Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Amy Chu, Dan Panosian, film producer Mark Canton, and other guests discuss the character’s comic book origins and her staying power within the medium. Those in attendance will also get a look at Dynamite’s new Red Sonja series from Torunn Grønbekk and Walter Geovani.
And as an added bonus, those in the room will get to see a teaser trailer of Millennium Films’ upcoming Red Sonja film from director M.J. Bassett and writer Tasha Huo. The film stars Matilda Lutz, Wallis Day, and Robert Sheehan. Fans will also get to see a special tribute video featuring some of the biggest contributors to Sonja’s comic book legend.
The fun starts at 11:30am on Friday, July 21st, in Room 5AB at SDCC.
