Previewing Cinebook’s August Titles: Motor Racing Thrills And Historical Adventures In The Best Of Euro Comics

Another month, another trio of quality Euro comic albums to come from Cinebook, who’ve been publishing English language versions of a massive range of Franco-Belgian Ninth Art since 2005, bringing the huge range and variety of Euro comics to the West.
August sees one debut and two second volumes of material published first in July. The debut sees Cinebook begin their translations of the French racing car thriller Michel Vaillant. Created by Jean Graton in 1957, the series has now run to 81 volumes, with somewhere upwards of 17 million albums have been sold. The series follows the rise of motorsport over the years through the fictional Vaillant motorsport team. Notable for its realism, both in the tracks, races, and personalities seen in the comics, and in the realism of the artwork, capturing every petrolhead moment in the pages.
Meanwhile, away from the race track and back in the 1700s, we have second adventuring volumes for both the semi-retired pirate Redbeard in the Caribbean and the story of art, love, and rebellion in Scotland pre-Culloden in Highland.
