Dynamite Sets A ‘Gargoyles Halloween Special’ For October
by Erik Amaya
With Disney’s Gargoyles a successful and ongoing concern for Dynamite Entertainment, it only makes sense that the company might offer fans something special and spooky this Halloween — the Gargoyles Halloween Special to be exact.
Announced Thursday, the 40-page special issue will arrive shortly before All Hallow’s Eve with co-creator Greg Weisman providing the main 28-page story with Bonesso Diego on art duties and Jeff Eckleberry on letters. The tale centers on Nashville, aka Gnash, the youngest member of the Manhattan clan as he celebrates his first Halloween in the Big Apple. While his mother, Katana, isn’t quite sure about the human ritual of trick-or-treating, Brooklyn accepts it allows Gnash the chance to walk the city as most human will just assume he is in an elaborate costume. But with masked Quarrymen hunting the Gargoyles, the presumed safety of the day is upended.
“It’s the scariest night of the year, but that doesn’t scare Gnash, as he heads out for his first Halloween in Manhattan,” Weisman said in a statement. “With candy, new friends … and all measure of monsters waiting in the shadows, Gnash is in for a classic Gargoyles Halloween adventure.”
Supporting the special are three variant covers from Matteo Lolli, Rebeca Puebla, and Mirka Andolfo. Check them out in the slideshow below:
Gargoyles Halloween Special is set to hit the stands on October 18th.
