Kickstarting Comics: ‘Gravestown’ Collected Edition Funding Now

If you missed out on Gravestown issues 1-4, Roger Gibson and Vince Danks are currently funding a collected edition of this great series on Kickstarter that’s going to look incredible on your shelves!

Gravestown is “a Deliciously Spooky, Perfectly Paced, Gorgeous Looking New Fantasy Horror From The Creators Of Harker” – well, that’s how I described it in the review of issue 1 anyway.

Since then, I’ve covered, previewed, and reviewed it plenty, so I hope you’re all very excited to see there’s a new hardback collecting the sold-out issues 1-4 of the series. But if you still don’t know about the series, make sure you scroll right down to the end of this piece for the brilliant intro in issue 1 – it’s well worth it!

The new collection includes 1-4 of the series plus two brand-new, unpublished Gravestown strips written by Roger and drawn by Andrew Richmond and Mark Wayne Barrett. In addition, there’s covers, supporting material, and pin-ups and journal pages previously only seen by supporters of the prior Kickstarters, all delivering a 164-page graphic novel.

Gravestown is a full-colour horror-fantasy series from Roger Gibson and Vincent Danks, creators of my favourite crime procedural drama, Harker – and it’s everything I/you could have expected from them when they turn their hands to a mysterious, fantastical, slightly sexy bit of fantasy drama.

Here’s how Roger describes the series…

“Gravestown is primarily the story of Emma, a 21st Century student who falls into a bizarre, ancient town filled with vampires, zombies, faerie, aliens and ghosts, and she’s unable to get home. Seemingly hunted by everyone, her only chance of survival is finding some friends to protect her. Teamed up with a vampire, a ghost and the mysterious Ravenhall, she imagines she’s safe. And then things get infinitely worse.”

Extras on offer include prints, bookmarks, bookplate, poster, t-shirt, and original art from Danks.

The new collection, in hardback and softback, looks absolutely wonderful, written by Roger, art by Vince, and with colours by Andrew Richmond, who’s been the full artist of the comic since issue 5, with Vince due to return for issue 8.
