‘The Wheel Of Time’ Turns Again In Comics From Dynamite This November As ‘The Great Hunt’ Begins

The Wheel turns again.

Coinciding with the imminent return of The Wheel of Time to Amazon’s Prime Video service next week, Dynamite announced on Thursday that The Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt will also find its way to comic shops this November. Based on the second book in Robert Jordan‘s epic fantasy series, it sees Rand al’Thor, Mat Cauthon and Perrin Aybara setting out to retrieve the legendary Horn of Valere. Meanwhile, Egwene al’Vere is on her own journey to the White Tower to “learn the ways of the Aes Sedai.” But with the Dark One seeking out Rand for his own reasons, the groups various journeys will be filled with action, intrigue, and alternate worlds.

Writer Rik Hoskin and artist Marcio Abreu handle the adaptation of The Great Hunt. “With a project like this, I always try to be as faithful as I can to the source material,” Hoskin said in a statement. “That means familiarizing myself with the world, and trying to get it all into chunks I can refer to quickly — a bit like making revision notes when you’re at school!”

Dynamite’s previous spins on the Wheel, based the prequel novel New Spring and the first novel, The Eye of the World, are available in collected form from Tor Books. The publisher also released Jordan’s  The Eye of the World in 1990 and keeps the whole series of novels in print.

Supporting the first issue of The Great Hunt are covers from Mel Rubi and Jordan Gunderson and a photo cover featuring an image from the Amazon television series, which also takes The Great Hunt as its inspiration for Season 2.

The Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt is due for release in November.
