After Surprise Tax Bill, California’s Nostalgic Comic Shop Needs Some Help

What’s that saying about death and taxes?
It seems that Nostalgic Comic Shop has a pretty significant tax problem and is asking its customers and supporters to help out.
According to a tweet from the San Gabriel, California, comic book store, a point-of-sale system error has left the company in serious tax arrears. The unpaid tax bill is so significant that the store is having trouble paying the rent and its regular merchandise bills.
The store is asking customers to assist by picking up and paying for pull box orders, by taking advantage of its Labor Day sale or by ordering a gift card. Supporters outside of the Los Angeles area can support the shop by buying a store T-shirt or coffee mug.
Nostalgic Comic Shop is a vibrant member of the local comic community, and regularly hosts creator signings, art shows, toy drives and Free Comic Book Day event.
