Raina Telgemeier’s ‘Facing Feelings’ Exhibition Extended To Nov 19, Plus Q&A On Sept 29

The Facing Feelings: The Art of Raina Telgemeier exhibition that we’ve told you about already is now extending its run until 19 November, plus there’s a chance to take part in a live Q&A with Raina on 29 September.

Originally running May 24 to November 5, the exhibition from the multi-million-selling and universally adored Raina Telgemeier is now running until November 19 at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum in Colombus, Ohio. The exhibition contains over 20 years’ worth of original artwork from the author of the bestselling and adored Smile, Drama, Sisters, Ghosts, and Guts.

Surely there’s no need to remind you who Telgemeier is? More than 18 million books in print as of 2019, fans in the millions, one of the most successful US cartoonists, only recently overtaken by the equally impressive Dav Pilkey. And described, quite rightly, by David Saylor, publisher at Scholastic Graphix as being the cartoonist who “single-handedly created the market for middle-grade graphic memoir”. So yes, please tell me again how superhero comics are mainstream and I’ll tell you how wrong you are.

So, the Facing Feelings exhibition at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at The Ohio State University now runs to November 19 (1pm – 5pm, closed on Mondays).

And then Telgemeier will be doing a live Q&A on 29 September at 5pm, at the Wexner Center, free for all audiences with a ticket, which you can get here. It’s part of Cartoon Crossroads Columbus 2023. And after the conversation, there’s a free reception from 6 to 8 PM at the Billy Ireland.
