Top Shelf Productions And Colleen Madden Introduce The (Not Really) Terrifying World Of Shelley Frankenstein In ‘CowPiggy’

Time to take a little (late) peek inside some of Top Shelf Productions‘ releases from this last month, with a distinctly different tale of a Frankenstein… Shelly Frankenstein in CowPiggy!

Top Shelf Productions always has a wonderfully diverse slate of releases and that’s absolutely true of this past month, with Funny Things: A Comic Strip Biography of Charles M. Schulz, the cutest little mad scientist Shelley Frankenstein, and the tenderly powerful But You Have Friends giving a variety and depth to Top Shelf’s August.

We already looked at Emilia McKenzie‘s beautiful But You Have Friends here, but missed out on the other two – something I wanted to put right. You can see the Funny Things: A Comic Strip Biography of Charles M. Schulz here, but today, we’re looking at the delightful Shelly Frankenstein… a new middle-grade series from Colleen Madden.

Shelley Frankenstein loves to create scary monsters, but for some reason they always turn out cute…until this time.

Imagine being a little girl with a very famous (infamous even) family history. The Frankenstein name is something that little Shelley more than embraces, she’s a girl who loves to be scared and assumes everyone else is the same… sadly for her, that’s just not true…

Shelley and her brother/assistant Iggy, spend their time making all manner of new toys to impress/horrify their peers on the playground. But it never goes exactly the way Shelley wants it to.

But then Shelley and Iggy happen upon the Frankenstein family graveyard—which gives Shelley an idea for the ULTIMATE monster… CowPiggy!

Now, this new creation will either have everyone running in terror, finally, the way that proper monsters do… or it will be a super cute beginning to Colleen Madden’s wonderful new middle-grade series of spooks and silliness. (No spoilers, definitely the latter!)
