Previewing WizKid’s 28th Icons Of The Realms D&D Minis Set, ‘Seas & Shores’

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

The players have completed a big story moment. They had a great time shopping at the local markets and the underground bazaar. Your party warlock has even bartered with the local brine hag who lives down on the docs for a few eldrich items so she can grow in power and make her patron, the Fiend Tabarath the Deceiver, proud.

The next epic chapter in your TTRPG adventure is about to begin and as your party heads out you look at the map and realize that there is an awful lot of ground to cover between where they have been and where they are going. Those landscapes are rich with opportunities for encounters big and small to soften them up for bigger fights and create memorable moments in the tapestry of sorties they will share… if they survive the collection of fun combatants you have in store!

The 28th set in WizKids Icons of the Realms has some real winners in it that are ready to be unleashed upon your players as they make their way from place to place. Titled Seas & Shores, these pre-painted D&D miniatures are part of a line of 48 nautical figures that collect a variety of coastal and underwater denizens, like the savage sahuagin, the dreaded dragon turtle wyrmling, and one of my personal favorites the unknowable aboleth.

In addition, this set includes several pirates, creatures, and swashbucklers to plague your players with. What I really like about this set is that while it is nautical-themed these minis can easily fit into most settings where strange creatures and harrowing encounters can come in handy.

The Hippogriff and Aarakocra are standouts in the image above, along with the really cool semitransparent Sword Wraith Warrior. Below you can see the double-headed Amphisbaena ready to strike, a great Tortel mini with spear, and the Dragon Turtle Wyrmling that could serve as a memorable encounter on the shore of a forgotten beach or launching itself out of a storm drain in a bustling city.

There is a deluxe figure for this set that needs to be called out as well. The Maw of Sekolah is the avatar to the hungry sahuagin god that brutally feeds upon sacrifices captured for it until your party becomes its next meal or ruins its appetite for good.

You can pick up Seas & Shores Booster Bricks and the Maw of Sekolah in your LGS in October 2023, and these can be pre-ordered at DNDMini.com right now!

Until next time, get out there and roll some dice!
