NYCC 2023: ‘Gargoyles Quest’ From Dynamite Rings In The New Year

by Erik Amaya

While Dynamite’s first Gargoyles series wrapped recently, the saga of the Manhattan clan continues.

Ahead of New York Comic Con, Dynamite announced the January launch of Gargoyles Quest. Series co-creator Greg Weisman carries on as writer with Pasquale Qualano bringing his talents to the storytelling art and Jeff Eckleberry on letters.

Picking up from events in the Gargoyles title, Demona is back and in search the “New Keys to Power” — ancient, magical artifacts that will confer upon her unimaginable abilities. But despite their history together, Goliath will stop at nothing to prevent her from completing her quest. And the rest of the clan — Hudson, Brooklyn, Lexington, Broadway and Goliath’s daughter, Angela — will back him up every step of the way. But will it be enough to stop Demona?

“We all know Demona has it out for the human race, so the big question isn’t, ‘Why does she want the Three New Keys to Power?’ but ‘How is she going to use them to destroy her perceived enemies, i.e., humanity?'” Weisman said in a statement.

Supporting the first issue are covers from Clayton Crain, Jae Lee and colorist partner June Chung, and Drew Moss.

Gargoyles Quest #1 is set to arrive on store shelves in January.
