Dynamite Takes To Kickstarter For Limited Edition ‘The Boys’ And ‘Gen V’ Books

by Erik Amaya

The Boys and its spinoff, Gen V, are proven successes and Dynamite is looking to celebrate with special limited collectors’ items.

The company announced Wednesday a new Kickstarter campaign for the new releases: logo-free “virgin” editions of The Boys #8, The Boys #24, and The Boys #52. Each issue features a character or concept crucial to the first season of Gen V. Issue #8, for example, features one of the first cover appearances of Tek Knight, a prominent character on the new Amazon series who, rumor has it, will have a bigger part to play in the next season of The Boys. Issue #24 is the first appearance of the G-Wiz Junior Supe Team, the spiritual antecedents of the students on Gen V. #52, meanwhile, features Soldier Boy on the cover and in the story. He also makes a Gen V appearance.

The “virgin” editions appear without trade dress, so collectors and fans can appreciate the gorgeous artwork.

Options for the campaign include CGC grading and oversized hardcover omnibus editions of The Boys, each measuring 7.4 by 11.1 inches. In total, the three tomes collect the entire series and associated miniseries. And naturally enough, backers can get their comics signed by creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

The campaign is currently live on Kickstarter.
