Gill-Man Rises From Super7 With “X-Ray Action!”

When I was a kid, I loved watching black-and-white horror movies on random TV channels that would run them in the middle of the night. If there was a horror host to make jokes and do skits, that bookended the movies that was great. But even when there were just the movie itself and some commercial interruptions about life insurance or copper pots and pans or fishing supplies, it was still a great time. Of all of them, at least when I was a kid, and for the most part now, my favorite was Gill-Man, also known as The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Fan favorites Super7 has released a ‘Super Cyborg The X-Ray Action Figure’ version of Gill-Man and it is absolutely stunning. Appearing as if he just lurked from the depths of a lagoon in the Amazon, this figure of the 11” tall Gill-Man is articulated and painted in full color. The intricate sculpt on this figure comes with three removable plates that let you examine some of the finer details of the Creature’s anatomy and add a really fun level to the play.
The skull sculpt under the faceplate on this is a selling point for me as it looks so weird and otherworldly while still adhering to a physiology that seems real and the packaging on this just speaks to the care and attention to design that the Super7 team puts into their projects.
