by Richard Bruton
Sunday, Sunday here again… which means it’s obviously time for our regular seven-day round-up of things in a feature we’ve imaginatively called The Sunday Spotlight…

Always a delight to put up a bit of Mick MacMahon art but this is made better by Rob Williams‘ tweet:
There’s many reasons Mick McMahon is the best but this T-Rex’s eye perfectly showing “i hugely regret this decision” is among them.
Okay then, onwards ever onwards… As always, the rules are simple, it’s my ball, my game, my rules… so expect to see lots of interesting comics stuff going on but few capes involved…

Tom Humberstone’s Grave Offerings…
Over on his Substack, Tom Humberstone, author of Suzanne from Avery Hill, has just completed a month of horror movie recommendations as a daily newsletter piece:
“62 film recommendations, 31 posts, 42 illustrations, and just over 30,000 words written in about a month. What an absurd thing to do. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading along. I’ve really enjoyed doing it. It’s been such a delight to really throw myself into it and have an excuse to revisit all these movies.”
You should go read them, go subscribe to Tom’s Substack, go give him a load of money and buy all his books.

JaKe’s Beatles…
There was something to do with the Beatles this week? Some new record? You might have heard of it, although it really didn’t get that much traction in the news.
Anyway, if you’ve had a listen and are all meh about it all, might I suggest having a look at JaKe‘s selection of Beatles work over the years – far more inspired.

Rachael Smith’s Nap Comix interview…
The wonderful Rachael Smith, who I’ve featured many, many times on this very site, including this last time when we looked at her current bit of brilliance, Nap Comix, has an interview with Andy Oliver over at Broken Frontier. Go read.
And finally, a happy birthday to Steve Ditko…
Okay, I’ll make an exception with the no capes thing for this. November 2nd 1927 was the birthday of one Steve Ditko, the creator of Spider-Man, Dr Strange… one of the foundations of the entire Marvel Universe and maker of quite incredible artworks…
