James Tynion IV And Joshua Hixson’s ‘The Deviant’ #1 Sells Out And Gets A Second Printing

by Olly MacNamee

Writer James Tynion IV (W0RLDTR33, The Department of Truth), artist Joshua Hixson (The Plot, Children of the Woods), and Ringo Award winning letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou’s The Deviant #1 has sold out at distribution level, so gets an order for a second printing. Looks like Christmas has come early for the creative team behind this Image comic book.

Here’s what Tynion IV had to say about the good news:

“There really is no better feeling than hearing that a book has already sold out on its first day of release! I’m absolutely thrilled, and want to thank all of the amazing retailers and readers who have come out to support another one of my titles. The Deviant is a dark and personal work, and I hope it can find a huge audience over this holiday season and beyond.”

And here’s the nine-issue series synopsis:

“As snow falls over Milwaukee in 1972, a blood-stained Santa Claus commits unimaginable atrocities against young men. Set fifty years later, The Deviant follows a troubled young writer interviews this so-called “Deviant Killer,” who still maintains his innocence from behind bars. And as Christmas approaches once again, the past returns, wielding a sharpened ax.”

The second printing will be out on Wednesday, December 20th along with the second issue and following covers:
