‘Avengers: Twilight’ Lightning Bolt Covers Pay Homage To Dystopian Comics

Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Twilight finds Earth’s Mightiest Heroes saving the world from their own dark and twisted legacy. To celebrate this dark future, Marvel Comics is homaging one of the greatest pieces of dystopian comics in new Lightning Bolt variant covers.
One of the best known comics from Marvel’s Distinguished Competition saw their most famous hero silhouetted against a lightning storm as he dove into his dystopian city. Now, all six issues of Avengers: Twilight features homages to that infamous cover, including one from Frank Miller himself, as well as Phil Noto, Sara Pichelli, Ben Su, Carmen Carnero, and Declan Shalvey.
