When I stumbled across the work of CROM on Instagram, it scratched an itch I had in the deep folds of my brain. Their art just fit into the webwork of things I love being mostly black and white, depicting animated skeletons, feeling super Sword & Sorcery, having a ton of weirdness to it. When color does make an appearance, it’s typically violently bright and harkens to pulp comics and animated shows of my youth.
Birdking Vol 2 is all of that and more.
