Square-Enix Brings ‘Visions Of Mana’ To Consoles And PC In 2024
by Sage Ashford
Square-Enix has confirmed Visions of Mana, the first mainline Mana title in over 15 years, is releasing in 2024. Visions of Mana promises to take the series back to its action-RPG roots, while also setting players in a semi-0pen world for this massive new adventure. In Visions of Mana, players will take on the role of Val, a soul guard meant to protect his childhood friend after they’ve been chosen to become the Alm of Fire and travel to the Tree of Mana.
This new game brings back a number of classic Mana creators, including Mana producer Masaru Oyamada, character designer HACCAN, and Airi Yoshioka on monster illustrations.
This announcement comes after Square-Enix claimed they planned to scale back on mid-size games and place more focus on AAA titles, however, it’s also noted that plan was meant to take several years. For now, it’s great to have one of Square’s oldest franchises come back.
Visions of Mana is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series.
