Strap In, Get The Engines Revving: Previewing ‘Petrol Head’ #3

by Richard Bruton

The robo-driving, high-octane, pedal to the metal thrills just keep on coming with Petrol Head #3, as we see Petrol Head and the gang on the run from the threat of The O and his robo-police in Rob Williams and Pye Parr’s excellent series that just keeps on truckin’…

Through the previews and the reviews, I’ve banged on and on about this one and how it’s one you need to be reading, one that grabs you from the opening page all the way through to its eventual end for this first season of the comic.

I’ve got a preview of issue 3 below for you but here’s what you’ve missed so far… We’re in a world destroyed by climate crisis where the remnants of humanity have to shelter in six giant domes controlled and overseen by The O, cybernetic overlord and administrator responsible for keeping humanity safe…

But against all that, one scientist may just have an answer and a way to clean up the toxic skies outside the domes. And that’s where the problems all started here. All is not as it seems, forcing the scientist and his daughter, Lupa, to flee and bringing in Petrol Head, one of the few retired robo-racers that used to burn petrol and rubber on the streets to keep the people entertained.

Here in issue 3, Petrol Head, his robo-bird Dave, Lupa, and her dad are on the run from The O and his robo-police – and desperate times mean desperate measures for Petrol head, including risking his beloved ride, the Chief, and having to turn to his worst enemy for help! Meanwhile… SuperCarStar™ is entering the race!

Yes, the thrills keep on thrilling and the cars keep on revving as Williams and Parr keep things going faster and faster, better and better in Petrol Head, fabulous fun for all.

So motor down to your local comic shop right this minute and pick up issue 3, it should be there still, I’m only a few days late with this preview after all. And be sure to put your name down for all the rest of the series!
