Marvel & Disney Reveal New ‘X-Men’ And ‘Avengers’ Anniversary Homages

Last year’s series of Disney and Marvel homage variants were a massive hit for the publisher. Now the company continues the variant series by celebrating Marvel’s premier superhero teams, both of which celebrate their 60th anniversary this year.
Appearing as variants each month on Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man, these mash-ups finds Disney’s ‘Big Six’ taking the places of some of Marvel’s biggest characters from some of the most famous X-Men and Avengers covers. The covers range the entire history of both teams.
In April, May and June, the covers will depict new takes on three key Marvel Universe firsts. April’s Amazing Spider-Man #47 sees the debut of the West Coast Avengers from West Coast Avengers #1. The first appearance of Havok from X-Men #58 will feature the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #49. And wrapping up this trio of reveals is Minnie Mouse stepping into the shoes of Dazzler from Uncanny X-Men #130 on the cover of June’s Amazing Spider-Man #51.
