Marvel Reveals A New Generation Of Mutants With ‘Ultimate X-Men’
by Tony Thornley
Marvel Comics’ new Ultimate Universe continues to take shape. In March, Ultimate X-Men will debut a completely new take on Marvel’s mighty mutants.
Following Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Black Panther, Ultimate X-Men comes from the unique and singular vision of Peach Momoko. The popular creator will craft a completely new take on the team, combining Japanese mythology with the popular world of the X-Men. The series will follow Hisako Ichiki, AKA Armor, and new character Maystorm, as they navigate the post-Ultimate Invasion universe created by the Maker.

“At first, I was worried about being chosen for such an important project, but the more I draw and write the series, the more confident I am with my own vision of Ultimate X-Men,” Momoko told AiPT Comics in last week’s X-Men Monday column. “Ultimate X-Men isn’t directly influenced by classic X-Men stories. I like to believe [C.B. Cebulski] and Jonathan Hickman chose me because they wanted something completely new and different.”
