Director Morgan Jon Fox Pops In To Discuss ‘The Hobby’

Director Morgan Jon Fox stops by the Comicon virtual studio to chat about his upcoming documentary The Hobby, available on streaming platforms this Friday, February 16. We discuss the film, which covers the increasingly high-stakes world of trading card collecting. We also talk about the crossover between sports cards, comics, music, and a few other places where collecting emerges.

We talk about some of the unusual artifacts trading card companies include in packs to control scarcity and spur on ‘the chase.’ Fox recalls his early days in the hobby and the market forces of the time.
