‘Deadpool’ #1 Hits Hard With Superstar Artist Variants
by Tony Thornley
With the Merc with a Mouth’s latest film coming out this year, it’s a big year for Wade Wilson. To get fans excited, Marvel is putting some serious muscle behind the debut of Deadpool’s latest volume.

Rising stars Cody Ziglar and Roge Antonio premier Wade’s new series, with all the trademark humor and action fans expect from Deadpool, plus a new emphasis on family. The series will find him reuniting with his daughter Ellie, just as a new villain called Death Grip makes his debut. Just as he tries to reconnect with Ellie, he starts to realize Death Grip might be able to live up to his name.
The issue will have a range of variants from comics legends and rising stars. They include Taurin Clarke, Ryan Stegman, Javier Garron, Miguel Mercado, Sean Galloway, Jan Bazaldua, and Pete Woods
“Wade’s been one of my favorite characters since I first got into super hero comics, so being asked to helm a Deadpool series was a dream come true,” Ziglar said. “I look forward to diving into and exploring Wade’s family (found or otherwise), his unique approach to being a (mostly) unkillable mercenary, as well see what kinda of whackos they bring into his orbit.”
