Jumping On — Series Premieres, One-Shots, And New Story Arcs Kicking Off March 27, 2024

One of the most frustrating things about finding new comics to read and enjoy is finding a good jumping on point. It can be confusing and disheartening to pick up a single issue from the middle of an arc without having the context of the previous chapters.

With that in mind, here are a few New Story Arcs, Series Premieres, and One-Shots that caught my eye for this upcoming New Comic Book Day, Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Morning Star #1, Mad Cave Studios

This one comes from my review queue this week.

The Goon: Them That Don’t Stay Dead #1, Dark Horse

Also from my review queue comes the newest entry in Eric Powell’s The Goon. 

The Goon and Franky have had a hell of a time returning to Lonely Street. Just as they’ve finally got the various gangs of blood suckers and night stalkers back in line, a new threat appears. A threat that will shake the very foundations of Nameless Town. Also, Spider gets hooked on the junk. 

Batman: Dark Age #1, DC

Batman goes all historical fiction as Gotham’s favorite delinquent son becomes a dark knight shaped by a city in turmoil as it marches towards its prophesied doom. Set against the backdrop of actual historical events, Gotham comes alive, filled with the iconic characters who’ve loved and hated Batman over the years like you’ve never seen them before.
