Anime Boston 2024: Manga And Art Book Swag Haul

Anime Boston shines as one of the best anime focused conventions in the US. Anime Boston 2024 was well-organized, attracted top talent, and showcased prime merchandise. Many of these items wouldn’t be found in regular stores. Here’s a rundown of some of the items I found at this year’s convention.
Fate Kalied Liner Prima Illya: Vow in the Snow Blu Ray
Vow in the Snow is an anime film that’s part of the Prisma Illya anime series with is part of the larger Fate Stay Night universe. The film acts a prequel to the yuri magical girl show and is the strongest entry to the series. While Prisma Illya is mostly fun and games Vow in the Snow reminds viewers that this is part of a larger dark fantasy world. I was able to snag the Blu Ray for $16 which is a miracle because most anime disks are in the $50 range.
Taking Care of God
Taking Care of God is a manga based on a short story by Hugo Award-winning author Cixin Liu. The story follows a young girl named Zhihan discovers an old man who fell from the sky. Soon many more elderly differers appear all claiming to the the creator. The manga came highly recommended, so I decided to pick it up.
The Art of Posuka Demizu
Posuka Demizu is best known for his work on The Promised Neverland. This artbook details the many illustrations Demizu has done outside of Shonen Jump. I beautiful edition with page after page of stunning imagery. Posuka Demizu is sure to fire up the imagination of any fantasy fan.
MON Works: Illustration Making and Visual Book
This artbook collects the illustrations of the artist known as MON. Their style caught my eye because of their impressive use of color and design. Erotic, grotesque, gothic, and surreal MON’s work is like a fusion between Go Nagai and Yoshitaka Amano. This book features 200 pages of trippy visual madness!
