Vault Comics, Post Malone, Michael Bay And Brad Fuller Announce… A Big Concept With Little Details

This is a strange one, as there is no accompanying art whatsoever, or much in the way of details, for the announcement that Vault Comics is teaming up with Post Malone, Michael Bay and Brad Fuller’s Platinum Dunes, to create an all-new shared universe of characters and stories based on an original story by Post Malone.
As I am informed in the accompanying PR, the first-time comic book creators are “blending elements of road thrillers like Mad Max: Fury Road, and demonic horror like Evil Dead,” in a “story is set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens.” Lazy, right?
Anyway, speaking about this new project, which feels like it was conjured up on the back of a cigarette packet, Post said:
“I’m so pumped to share this badass story with the world, and I couldn’t ask for better partners than Michael Bay and Vault to help bring this story to life.”
The first planned release will be a graphic novel, set for publication in 2025 with the partners concurrently developing a feature film adaptation of the story.
Padding out the PR – again with no artwork whatsoever – is Vault CEO Damian Wassel, who said:
“This is the kind of project you dream about. We get to work with an exceptional artist at the top of his game to build a completely original story from the ground up. We have an iconic director helping to guide the creative development. We’re going to bring the world a mind-blowing graphic novel, and that’s just the beginning.”
The last word goes to Bay, who managed to find time in his busy day, making mediocre and sexist films, to add the following:
“I love working with talented people, and Post Malone is incredibly gifted. I am excited to work with him on such an intriguing idea, and when you add Vault to the mix, it raises the bar to another level. This new IP is just what the graphic world needs right now.”
So, a rather hyped up piece of Pr with nothing whatsoever to show other than a vague idea of a concept. But, as I am in charge of Vault Comics coverage, I feel I had to pass on this to any fans of Post Malone, Michael Bay and Brad Fuller. This ones of you!
