‘Jonny Quest’ Continues His Adventures This August

Jonny Quest‘s time has come again.

Dynamite announced Monday that Jonny Quest #1 will be available this August. Following on from the 2024 Free Comic Book Day #0 issue, the series comes from writer Joe Casey and artist Sebastián Piriz, Jonny, Dr. Benton Quest, adopted son Hadji, bodyguard “Race” Bannon, and trusty pup Bandit set off for more adventure, intrigue, and mystery inspired by the original 1960s Hanna-Barbera animated series.

“The hope is that we’re maintaining the bouncy spirit of the original TV show,” Casey said in a statement. “From one episode to the next, Jonny Quest always had a particular dramatic rhythm that was completely unique. We want our book to have that same kind of vibe. Plus, the fact that Benton and Jonny are father and son automatically makes this a generational story. We’re taking that angle and really running with it, taking that specific generational aspect to the extreme in ways that, we think, deepen the characters and give them the proper amount of gravitas that we demand from our beloved genre fiction.”

Supporting the first issue are covers from Chad Hardin, Jae Lee, Tom Raney, Bob Layton, and Richard Pace.
