The Greatest Comic In The Galaxy Announces A Return To Thought Bubble 2024 With The ‘2000 AD’ Writer & Artist Talent Searches

Psst.. wanna be in comics? Well there’s only one comic that has open auditions and that’s 2000 AD…

This year sees Thought Bubble, one of the finest conventions and comics festivals in Britain (and pwrhaps the world) return to Harrogate on Monday 11 November to Sunday 17 November, with the two-day convention happening on the weekend of 16/17 November.
And also returning will be the 2000 AD writer and artist talent searches, perhaps the only open-to-all-audition to get proper, paying, pro comics work in the world. They’re looking for you – everyone is welcome, and they’re especially looking for pitches from women and creators from marginalised communities.
These talent searches have introduced us to a whole host of talents, including many who have gone on to write and draw professionally for 2000 AD and other publishers. The list of past winners includes Rory McConville, Honor Vincent, Will Morris, Laura Bailey, and Tom Foster, amongst many others.
The winners of each contest will collaborate on the successful script and bring it to the pages of 2000 AD in the following year – paid of course.
In fact, the winners of the 2023 Thought Bubble 2000 AD Talent Search, Ed Whiting and Sinu Senon, will have their story published in next week’s Prog 2388 – here’s a sneak peek at their Terror Tale – The Essence of the Piece…

There’s full details of what you need to do to enter and take part here on the Thought Bubble site.
But, giving you the short version – writers need to pitch their Future Shock by bringing their two-minute pitch to the 2000 AD booth at Thought Bubble before the judging session on Saturday 16th November, then you’ll be part of the live pitch session where the prospective writers have to do a live pitch in front of an audience.
