.

Welcome once more to the wonderful world of Euro Comics, full of some incredibly diverse books, covering every possible genre, by the finest writers and artists. And one of the main publishers who’ve taken on the much-needed task of bringing these great books to an English-speaking (and reading) audience is Cinebook. For many, many years, Cinebook has translated and published the finest examples of the 9th Art, entertaining millions of readers throughout the continent, and here we’ve got their trio of titles due for release in July 2024.

In Black Mary volumes 1 and 2, we’re back in time to a world of sailing ships, battling navies, libetines, and pirates sailing the seven seas. Black Mary is a legendary marauding pirate, most wanted by the Royal Navy but who always manages to escape capture. The first and second volumes featuring this fearsome female pirate feature adventure on the high seas and plenty of mystery and supernatural suspense.

The other title this month is the fourth volume of Lonesome, the adventures of a lone cowboy in the 19th Century with strange powers allowing him to read the past and future of those he touches. This lone rider has already rid the world of Markham the mad preacher and uncovered a conspiracy against the young government of the United States. Now this mystery cowboy is on the trail of a cultist involved in the dark history of his family.

So, three good looking titles to look forward to for July. Time for a preview of the covers and the Cinebook PR…

Black Mary Volume 2 – Passage to the Hereafter
By Rodolphe, illustrated by Florence Magnin, published on 18 July 2024

Rescued at sea by Black Mary, Lord James, the libertine aristocrat who longed for adventure, is utterly enthralled by the fierce pirate captain – enough so that when she boards a royal warship, he chooses to fight at her side. With her ship badly damaged, though, Mary must return to her hidden base, an island not on any map. For good reason: the inhabitants of the island are … the men and women who died at sea, and remain there until it is time to move on to the afterlife …
