‘Iron Fist’ 50th Anniversary Special Sees Danny Rand Face Tragedy

Wolverine isn’t the only hero celebrating his fiftieth anniversary this year. For Iron Fist though, his fiftieth anniversary isn’t going to be a happy affair.
Danny Rand’s journey through the Marvel Universe has been one of the most tumultuous in the publisher’s history. Going from mystical kung fu adventurer, to the mentor of a new legacy in a long line of martial artists that have possessed the power of the Iron Fist, Danny is one of the greats. His anniversary special will see the return of legendary creator Chris Claremont, as well as stories from up-and-comers and stars like Alyssa Wong, Lan Media, Frank Tieri, Justina Ireland, Jason Loo, Whilce Portacio, Elena Casagrande, Ty Templeton and Von Randal.
The special includes:
· Visionary Iron Fist scribe Chris Claremont teams up with artist Lan Medina for an untold tale set during Danny’s early years and co-starring fellow birthday boy Wolverine!
· Modern Iron Fists Lin Lie and Pei team up and have to overcome their rivalry to take down a fan-favorite Marvel supervillain in a story by Lin Lie’s solo Iron Fist series writer Alyssa Wong and artist Von Randal.
· Writer Justina Ireland and artist Elena Casagrande sets Iron Fist on a mission where he needs to join forces with his longtime allies (including his longtime girlfriend)—THE DAUGHTERS OF THE DRAGON!
· Writer Frank Tieri and artist Ty Templeton’s story features the team up every Iron Fist fan wants to see as Danny puts out the call to his closest allies—HEROES FOR HIRE!
· And last of all, discover what the future of the king fu master holds as writer Jason Loo and artist Whilce Portacio put the “immortal” in Immortal Iron Fist!
