Jean Grey Embraces Her Cosmic Fire In Derrick Chew’s ‘Phoenix’ #2 Cover

This week, the Marvel Universe gains a new cosmic hero as Phoenix #1 debuts. Marvel is already looking ahead to issue #2 though with a new variant cover reveal.
Phoenix by Stephanie Phillips and Alessandro Miracolo debuts this week, and puts Jean Grey on a massive stage. She’s wielded the Phoenix force before, but never on this scale before. It looks like this is giving the X-Men their own Thor-scale hero, and it’s a huge shift for Jean, long the heart of the X-Men.
Just before the debut issue drops, Marvel has released superstar cover artist Derrick Chew’s variant for the second issue. This image shows Jean at the height of her power, and ready to face threats like the Black Order and Gorr the God Butcher and team up with cosmic heroes like Nova and Captain Marvel.
Phoenix #1 debuts on July 17, and Phoenix #2 will be available August 21, from Marvel Comics.
