Tony Fleecs‘ Army of Darkness Forever is setting up for a grand finale.
Dynamite announced issue #13 — the series last after extending the story halfway through its run — will be a 40-page extravaganza, wrapping up the year-long tale of Ash Williams as he experiences three different timelines based on the various endings of Sam Raimi‘s Army of Darkness. In one, he’s back at the S-Mart aisles of 1993. In another, he faces the “mysterious neon-soaked vistas” of 2093 overrun by Deadites. He also finds himself back at Castle Kandar in the middle ages following the events of the film. The three timelines will converge, however, perhaps declaring one ending as canon and, maybe, positioning Ash to his final farewell.
Joining Fleecs for the grand sendoff are artists Eamon Winkle, Kewber Baal, and Pop Mahn, who will all provide the Army of Darkness with great, splater-filled panache. Meanwhile, Fleecs, Arthur Suydam, Bjorn Barends, and Chris Burnham provide one final set of variant covers.
Army of Darkness Forever #13 will release this October.
