The Greatest Rider Of All Time Returns In October’s ‘Robbie Reyes: Ghost Rider’ Special #1

by Tony Thornley

The Ghost Rider is one of the Marvel Universe’s greatest legacy heroes. This fall, one of the greatest to have the mantle returns to celebrate Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month in Robbie Reyes: Ghost Rider Special #1.

Robbie Reyes is perhaps the most radical reinvention of the Ghost Rider concept. The Los Angeles-based hero has a car for one thing. Then you factor in his family, including the evil uncle who possessed the car and his disabled brother. That’s just the basics before the character grew and became the All Rider.

In October, Marvel puts the spotlight entirely on Robbie in the latest Marvel Voices special for Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month. The special will featuring new stories featuring Robbie to show how much he’s grown from a cursed kid to one of the greatest Avengers in the team’s history.

Here’s what readers can expect from the three tales:

  • Since the end of his time in the Avengers, Robbie has been trapped in the God Quarry! Catch up with what he’s been up to there and how his family and friends are coping with his heroic sacrifice in a story by writer Carlos Hernandez and artist Moises Hidalgo
  • Robbie’s co-creator Felipe Smith and artist Daniel Bayliss unleash his full potential against an enemy from another dimension and faces his heroic destiny!
  • All Hell breaks loose at the most brutal place on earth- a roller derby!- in the thrilling debut of Fantasma, the New Champion legacy character making her way into the Marvel Universe. Writer Melissa Flores and Marvel Stormbreaker artist Jan Bazaldua introduces readers to Isabella “Izzy” Alvarez, a Colombian roller derby pro with a curse and a secret, as she teams up with Robbie against a horde of Hellhounds!

The special issue will feature covers by star artists Humberto Ramos, Gerardo Sandoval and newcomer J. Gonzo.

Check out all three covers now and watch for Robbie Reyes: Ghost Rider Special #1 this October from Marvel Comics.
