‘Hunt: Showdown 1896’ Announced With A Glimpse At The First Map
by Sage Ashford
The world of Hunt: Showdown continues as Crytek introduces Hunt: Showdown 1986, described as the “next chapter” of Hunt. Players travel to the Colorado Rocky Mountains as the game adds an entirely new map in Mammon’s Gulch. Just in time for this new map, Crytek is updating the Hunt experience with CRYENGINE 5.11, improving the visuals and performance of the game.
It’s also been mentioned they plan on updating some of the original maps after this one launches. This isn’t all good news though, as once Hunt: Showdown 1896 launches, players on PlayStation 4 and XBox One will no longer be have access to the original title, as it gets depricated. They will get a free upgrade to the new game which retains their past purchases and progress, but that will still require them to upgrade to the next generation. If nothing else, for now there doesn’t seem to be a limit on how long you can wait before you upgrade to PS5 or XBox Series.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 launches August 15th for Xbox Series, PC, and PlayStation 5.
