SDCC 2024: Sean Gunn Brings ‘Shepherds’ To Dynamite

Sean Gunn is making a graphic novel for Dynamite.
The company announced on Friday, just before day two of Comic-Con International: San Diego begins, that the beloved actor known for roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Gilmore Girls will be making his comic debut with a graphic novel entitled Shepherds. In the near-future, humans have seemingly vanished, and so a canine society rises up to take possession of the world. It’s not easy, though, as much of the planet seeks to reclaim the things it lost in the human era. But in the The Arena, a camp in an old stadium “populated by domesticated dogs, a few wolves and their pups,” a melanistic wolf named Queen Guadalupe rules. She is inspired by the human values of compassion and kindness, and hopes to raise her hybrid wolfpups with those qualities. But The Arena is soon jeopardized by an outside force of Canidae — wolves, coyotes, foxes, and jackals — looking to make the camp their own. Battle-hardened from conflicts with other species, they have no love for their formerly domesticated cousins. Evacuation may be the only recourse, but a former police dog called Blackberry may disrupt the plan.
